Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some individual think that, histroric building should be preserved such as town hall and museum, but it could be costly. other believe that it should be replace via new buildings.I will discuss the both views in upcoming paragraphs and give my opinion.
To begin with, the first and foremost reason is that why people want to restore the old buildings. They want to connect their children with their roots. To explain it, old building sould be perseve when new generation visit to the any museum and art gallary. They put a question to their teacher and parents about the old things. When they know the story behind this they want to follow them. For example, In India childeren visit to golden temple. which is located in Amritsar. Where they know about the sacrifies of our elder and also know about the mistakes which they did in past. If this type of mistake happen in present then they definatly solve it.Thus, it is necessary to restore the historic buildings.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response successfully addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views on the restoration versus replacement of historic buildings and providing a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the arguments regarding cultural roots and heritage are reasonably well supported with an example about visiting the Golden Temple in India, the counter-arguments concerning modern, profitable buildings such as shopping malls and cinemas are limited and under-developed. To achieve a higher band, all main ideas would need to be equally extended and explored with deeper reasoning and more robust supporting details.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement and follows a recognizable logical path, dividing the response into an introduction, separate body paragraphs for each view, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate distinct ideas. Nevertheless, cohesion is at times mechanical and faulty. For instance, transitional phrases like 'The first culprit is that' are unnatural, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as when pronouns lack distinct antecedents. Furthermore, the progression of ideas within paragraphs stumbles slightly due to abrupt transitions. To improve, the writer should employ a wider and more natural range of cohesive devices and ensure smoother links between sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for fulfilling the basic requirements of the task. There are clear attempts to use less common items and topic-specific vocabulary, such as 'historic building', 'heritage', and 'sacrifices'. However, these attempts are often marred by noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and word formation, such as 'histroric', 'sould be perseve', 'art gallary', 'morden building', and 'eleborate'. Additionally, spelling errors like 'childeren', 'definatly', and 'conculde' appear throughout the text. These errors do not entirely impede communication, but they restrict the vocabulary score, as precision and control over less common lexical items are still lacking.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures such as conditional and relative clauses, as seen in 'If this type of mistake happen in present then they definatly solve it.' However, the range of structures is somewhat limited, and attempts at complex sentences frequently feature errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and punctuation. Examples include 'Some individual think that', 'old building sould be perseve when new generation visit', and missing articles before singular countable nouns. While these grammatical errors do not completely obscure the intended meaning, they occur regularly and require the reader to occasionally decode the text, placing the grammar firmly in the middle tier.
