Student answer (Band 5.5)
We have a vast history of culture which is represented by the historical bulidings. That's why, some people arrgue that authorities should reserved the buliding by renovation while other think that rather than restore the building, government should replace it with new. I strongly agree with first point of view that historic building should be restored because of econmic and historic reason.
To start with the reason of why government should restore the old buliding, there are some reasons. Firstly, it help to boos the economy. To elborate this point, the main attraction to travail the other countries are the historic buildings. As mostly people really likes to know the cuture of the other countries and to know it they always traget the historic building such as in India there are a lot of tourist attraction like Taj Mahal, India Gate. And these bulding are connected with the past history. And this attraction help to atrract the more tourist which help to boost the economy.
Secondly, by restoring the old buliding, it help to perserve the rich history of our country. To elborate it, if they restore the buliding then the new genration will also conect with it. Moreover, it is the good way to know the costruction and the mechanism of the old building
However, others beileve that government should replace them with new. The reason behind this prospactive is that it cost a lot to maintain it and the best way to overcome it, authoriety should make the new bulding so that it could not put much effect on economy. It will put the less burden on the government.
To conclude, they both oint have their own reason but i think restore the old buliding is helpful to keep in touch with our rich history and culture exchange.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear preference for restoring historic buildings. The economic and cultural arguments are relevant, and examples such as the Taj Mahal and India Gate help illustrate the tourism point. The explanation that restoration connects younger generations with the past also supports your position. However, the case for replacing old buildings is less fully developed: you mention maintenance costs and reduced pressure on government finances, but do not explain when replacement might be preferable or give a concrete example. Some claims, such as historic buildings being the main attraction for travel, are broad. Develop both views more evenly and explain your reasons with greater precision.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “However” make the main stages easy to follow. Within paragraphs, though, connections can feel mechanical, and some references are unclear. For example, “this attraction” and “it” in the tourism paragraph require the reader to infer exactly what they refer to. The first supporting paragraph also repeats the idea that historic buildings attract tourists and boost the economy. Use a wider range of linking methods, make pronoun references explicit, and ensure each sentence adds a distinct step to the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “historic buildings,” “renovation,” “maintain,” “economy,” and “construction.” This gives you enough language to communicate the central ideas, but the range and control are limited, with repeated use of “building” and “help.” Several spelling errors, including “bulidings,” “econmic,” and “genration,” are noticeable, while inaccurate word choices such as “travail” and “traget” can distract the reader. Some combinations are also unnatural, for example “put much effect on economy.” Build a more precise set of topic phrases and check spelling and collocations carefully; this would make your ideas clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a reason clause beginning “because of” and conditional structures such as “if they restore the building then…”. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction occur across the response. For instance, “it help to boost” needs subject–verb agreement, and “people really likes” has the same issue. The sentence beginning “And these attraction help…” also has agreement and punctuation problems. Some sentences are joined in ways that make their structure difficult to follow. Practise accurate basic clauses first, then use complex forms with clear subjects and correctly matched verbs.
