Student answer (Band 5.5)
In todays technological and past pace moving world, there are few individuals who think that old buildings, like town halls and art galleries should be refurbished even they cost too much. While, others argue that governments might focus on new and modern buildings. In my opinion, Governing bodies should focus on constructing new and advanced architectures, also they should restore historical and ancient art to preserve our culture.
The importance of old buildings can't be deined or forbidden. Those ancient arts are very crucial part of our history like some of them carry special stories, memories and meaning in themselves. Like, Taj Mahal is a monument constructed by Sharjha in the memory of his wife that cannot be recreated again. So architects like these are meant to be preserved for as much time as we can. They carry their own journey those are very special and beautiful. These places are also become a very significant part of our tourism and economy. Also, they are now a part of our culture and tradition because of which India is known in the world for its magnificant art and craft.
On the other hand, a reality is that these artifacts cost a lot more in their mantainance. Infact, we can build lot more creative structures and artifacts. Preservence is important, but for development and growth of our country we need to construct more and more new and advance town halls and art galleries. For example, countries like UAE and USA have developed more hi-tech technology that boost their economy and GDP at a higher pace than that of India. For a country advancement is much more important than preservance. Majority of countries have their cultural arts preserved but they are not that developed or rich as compared to big nations.
So, we can conclued that conserving our art and culture is very significant but not more that its development and advancement. a country should focus on a balance to grow faster and effectively.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and state a position: you favour new construction for development while also supporting the preservation of cultural heritage. The Taj Mahal example gives the preservation argument a relevant illustration, and you also connect historic sites with tourism and the economy. However, the two positions are not developed equally clearly. The case for modern buildings relies mainly on their contribution to national growth, while the comparison with the UAE and USA is broad and does not explain how replacing old buildings would produce that growth. Your conclusion introduces a balance, but this is not fully reconciled with the earlier claim that advancement is more important than preservation. Explain the trade-offs and make your final position consistent throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “On the other hand” help signal the change in argument, and the examples generally appear alongside the points they support. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The opening “While, others argue” is not smoothly linked to the first clause, and repeated additions such as “Also” make parts of the first body paragraph read like a list. The final paragraph’s call for “a balance” also does not clearly follow from the stronger preference for development in the preceding paragraph. Use more precise links between claims and examples, and ensure each paragraph progresses from its main point to explanation and evidence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “refurbished,” “preserved,” “tourism,” “economy,” and “advancement,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also some less successful choices and spelling errors that make the writing less natural, such as “past pace moving,” “deined,” “magnificant,” “mantainance,” and “Preservence.” Several phrases are imprecise or awkward, including “ancient arts” for historic buildings or monuments and “developed more hi-tech technology.” These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall argument, but they limit precision and sometimes cause difficulty. Build accuracy by checking spelling and word forms, and learn common collocations for heritage, restoration, construction, and economic development.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrastive opening and clauses such as “because of which India is known in the world.” The main ideas are usually understandable, but errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation recur. For example, “even they cost too much” needs a grammatical link such as “even though they are costly,” while “Those ancient arts are very crucial part” needs an article and a more suitable noun. “These places are also become” mixes verb forms, and the comma after “While” disrupts the opening sentence. The conclusion also begins “a country” with an inconsistent capitalisation after a full stop. Review clause formation and verb patterns, then proofread for articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries.
