Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is widely acknowledged that in this modern world individuals believe that old building, such as town halls and art gallaeries, should be restorted because that a part of the society and it creates cultural design in the environment, it should be restored. On the other hand, some people believe that government should demolish the old one and replace it with modern building. While this issue has attracted considerable attention, there are differeng views regarding its impact. In this essay I will examine the key aspects of this topic and present my perspective.
One major aspect of this issue is that people like heritage building which belongs the history of the society and classic art of work on old building which is admirable, some people just want to restored it. As a consequence, individuals or societies may experiance the part of tradition architecture design. This factor leads a long-term effects, especially when this impact create a well-known place in the society. For instance, in many countries, such as United Kingdom, there you can see most of the historical buildings or old art galleries which brings a noticeable changes in people's lifestyles and priorities.
Another major aspect of this topic is that some people believe that we should demolish the old structure and develop the new buildings according to the new technology. From a broader perspective, this factor plays a crucial role in shaping future outcomes. While some people believe this development is beneficial, others believe it creates additional challenges. Nevertheless, it is clear that old buildings have a significant role in the society, but new modern buildings show the success of the society which has a vital impact on economic, social, or personal well-being.
In conclusion, although both perspective have positive and negative implications. This effects largely depends on how it is manage. After considering the main points discussed above, I believe we should maintain the balance between the old and new modern building according the situation is beneficial and realistic approach in the long run.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both sides of the discussion and state a position: the conclusion supports balancing preservation and modern development. The first body paragraph gives a relevant reason to restore historic buildings—their connection to heritage and architectural tradition—and the UK example helps illustrate this view. However, the case for replacing buildings is much less developed: references to technology and the “success of the society” do not explain clearly what practical benefits new buildings offer. Your own position also remains broad because “according to the situation” is not clarified. Develop each view with a specific reason and example, then explain the conditions under which you would preserve or replace a building. This would make the response more complete and the argument more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “On the other hand,” “For instance,” and “In conclusion” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear: several sentences rely on general statements such as “this factor plays a crucial role” without specifying what the factor refers to or how it supports the argument. The repeated “major aspect” framing and broad linking phrases make the organisation feel mechanical, while the conclusion introduces a balance that has not been fully explained in the body. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each reason to its consequence or example explicitly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “heritage,” “tradition,” “architecture,” “demolish,” and “modern technology,” and some phrases show an effort to discuss broader social effects. However, the range is limited by repeated general terms such as “factor,” “impact,” and “society,” and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate. For example, “classic art of work” and “creates cultural design in the environment” do not express the intended ideas naturally; “noticeable changes in people’s lifestyles” is also unclear in this context. Spelling errors such as “gallaeries,” “restorted,” and “experiance” further reduce control. Build a more precise vocabulary for heritage value, building condition, cost, accessibility, and urban development, and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “While” and “although,” but complex sentences are often faulty and errors occur frequently enough to make some ideas difficult to follow. For example, “although both perspective have positive and negative implications” has a plural agreement error and is left as a sentence fragment, while “This effects largely depends on how it is manage” contains agreement and verb-form problems. The opening sentence also joins several clauses without clear grammatical control. Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries need attention. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then combine ideas using one accurately formed subordinate clause at a time.
