Student answer (Band 6.0)
Old structures such as town halls and art galleries are the significant part of any city. Therfore, some people believe that inspite of higher cost these buildings should be restored .Others argue that new and modern building should be constructed instead of restoration of old ones.I sincerely believe with the former view that the legislation should restored old buildings.I will discuss both views and give my own opinion in the following paragraphs.
To begin with restoration of old buildings, old building and art galleries are the main tourist attraction of any place. It is often seen that most of the tourists have keen interest in the old civilization. They are more interested in ancient life style, food, devellers and other stuff. Such old buildings reflect the real view of old civilization. Therefore, vast majority of people reckon that authority should restore such building. Which will directly boost the turism.
From my perspective, government should spend more money to restore the buildings even though this can be costly. the main reason behind it that only such buildings are also important for educational perpose as well. Not only for tourists, it is also important for the new generation to learn about the history. Such evidence give a real example to them. Pupils can read the old scriptures and see the old techniques of painting in the art galleries. To give the such experience to the new generation, I think law makers should restore the buildings.
On other hand , people beleive that instead of spending money on old building government should spend money to build new and modern building which will help them in future for other financial gains. They deem that such spendings should be restricted and governement should only focus on future develeopement.
In conclusion, There is no doubt that modern technology and modern buildings are important to become a develop nation. Howerver, restoration of old building also preserve the history of any place and make them more attractive.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the question and state your position clearly: you support restoring historic buildings, while acknowledging the argument for modern construction. Your reasons are relevant, particularly tourism and the educational value of preserving evidence of the past. The examples of pupils seeing old scriptures and painting techniques help explain this view. However, the case for replacing old buildings is only briefly presented: “future financial gains” and development are mentioned but not explained or illustrated. Some points in the restoration argument also repeat the same idea about history without extending it. Develop the opposing view with a specific benefit or example, then explain why your position outweighs it.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the restoration arguments and the opposing view, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with” and “On other hand” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, and links between ideas are not always smooth. For example, “Therefore, vast majority of people reckon…” is followed by the fragment “Which will directly boost the turism.” The paragraph beginning “From my perspective” also repeats the position rather than clearly building on the previous paragraph. Use complete sentences, make references such as “such buildings” unambiguous, and connect each reason to its consequence more naturally.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “restored,” “tourist attraction,” “ancient life style,” “educational purpose,” and “financial gains.” These choices make the main ideas understandable, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “Therfore,” “turism,” “beleive,” and “develeopement.” Some collocations are also unnatural, such as “keen interest in the old civilization,” “real view of old civilization,” and “spendings should be restricted.” Aim for more precise, natural combinations and check spelling carefully. For example, “preserve historical heritage” and “allocate public funds” would express your ideas more accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause in “even though this can be costly” and the “Not only…but also” construction. The overall meaning is generally clear, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. For example, “the legislation should restored” needs a correctly formed verb phrase, and “Which will directly boost…” is a sentence fragment. There are also problems with articles, plurals, and agreement, as in “old building…are” and “Such evidence give.” Capitalisation and spacing around punctuation are inconsistent. Review verb forms after modal verbs, subject–verb agreement, and sentence boundaries; these corrections would make your varied structures more controlled and easier to follow.
