Student answer (Band 5.5)
Town halls and art galleries are very much costly to restore hence some people do not agree with this , as they want replace it with some mordern buildings. Where some people wants to restore these for the history they have.
I think town halls and art galleries should not be restored much as many of these are not usable or recognisable to the young generation, also these are very much costly to restored. These buildings are also very much large in size, to maintain the real structure, the power supply and more over to maintain the cleanliness of these buildings charges very high. We can use this fund somewhere else to create new things which are helpful for the society.
Moreover nowadays very few people are interested for art galleries or anchiant buildings as they have some creative mind otherwise common people are not that much entusiastic to keep those buildings. Goverment can replace this buildings with some science hub to educate people or can build something related to entertainment like theater or shopping mall which also helps to generate revenue from the people. They can replace these buildings with temples or schools also.I think to build school is one of the best option as a replacement of art gallery or town hall. It will serve a major role for the society.
Also i want to add that we can preserve a few art gallery or town hall as a remark of history they had. Young generation people also get to know things from the past by the eye of artist or the art from the art gallery. Town halls are also the witness of many wars and worriors. We can preserve this as museum also so that people buy ticket to know this histories and goverment will get the fund to maintain this anchiant buildings.
I can conclude this art galleries and town halls should be be replaced by new mordern buildings but as a remark of history we can restored some of this as a museum.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You discuss both positions and make your own view clear: you favour replacing most buildings, while retaining a few as museums. The suggestions to use sites for schools or science hubs, and to preserve selected buildings for their historical value, are relevant and give the response a clear direction. However, the case for restoration is less fully developed than the case for replacement. For example, you mention that town halls witnessed wars and that galleries show the past through art, but you do not explain in detail why these benefits might justify restoration costs. Some claims, such as saying that few people are interested in historic buildings, are broad and would be stronger with a specific example or qualification. Develop both sides more evenly and explain the trade-offs behind your opinion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall structure: it introduces the debate, gives reasons for replacement, considers preservation, and ends with a conclusion that restates your position. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and signposts such as “Moreover” and “Also” make the sequence easy to follow. At times, however, connections feel mechanical or the references are unclear. In “replace this buildings,” for instance, it is not clear which buildings “this” refers to, and the final paragraph repeats the main position without adding a new synthesis. The opening also combines contrasting views in a way that makes the relationship between them difficult to follow. Use clearer topic sentences and linking phrases that show contrast and consequence, and make pronouns refer unmistakably to their nouns.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “preserve,” “maintain,” “generate revenue,” “society,” and “remark of history,” so the reader can understand your main ideas. There are also attempts to express more specific concepts, such as turning buildings into a “science hub” or museum. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make the expression less natural: “very much costly,” “interested for,” “common people,” and “anchi ant” (intended as “ancient”) are examples. Repetition of “buildings,” “replace,” and “very much” also reduces flexibility. Build a bank of topic-specific phrases and check spelling and collocations; for example, use “costly to restore,” “interested in,” and “historic buildings” where appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a reason clause in “as they want replace it” and a conditional idea in “so that people buy ticket to know this histories.” The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction occur across the response. Examples include “some people wants,” “should not be restored much,” “costly to restored,” and “one of the best option.” Some sentences also join ideas awkwardly, as in the opening fragment beginning “Where some people…” and the long sentence about building maintenance. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and infinitive forms, and divide long sentences into clearer units. Proofreading for articles and plural endings would also improve control.
