Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You make an attempt to discuss both possibilities: adapting old buildings into galleries or resorts, and renovating them with facilities such as a gym, library, and garden. You also indicate a preference for reuse in the first paragraph. However, the task asks you to compare restoration with replacing old buildings by new, modern ones; your response mainly describes renovation and repurposing, so the second view is not clearly explained. The ideas about tourism, income, and community facilities are relevant but are asserted rather than supported with specific reasons or examples, and the conclusion does not clearly state your overall position. The response is also 25 words below the required minimum. Develop both views directly and explain which you support and why.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response into two paragraphs, with the first focusing on galleries and resorts and the second on modernisation and facilities. This gives the reader some sense of a change in topic. However, the progression within each paragraph is difficult to follow: ideas about visitors, children’s skills, city income, and a smart city are joined without clear explanation of how they connect. Repeated use of “so” and “and” creates a list-like flow, while references such as “this” and “they” are not always clear. Use a clear introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion; connect each supporting point explicitly to the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “art gallery,” “resort,” “renovation,” “facilities,” “garden,” and “development.” These words help communicate the general subject, and there are attempts to express benefits such as tourism and community use. However, the range is repetitive, with frequent reliance on “building,” “people,” “city,” and “good,” and several word choices or spellings make meaning less clear, such as “different typ of art gellary” and “a different knowledge.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “make a smart and technical.” Build a more precise set of terms for preservation and replacement, and check spelling and collocations so your ideas are expressed clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You communicate several basic ideas using simple sentences, and there are occasional attempts to link clauses, for example, “so they are improving the skill.” However, sentence structures are mostly simple and many sentences contain errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries. Examples include “some people are believe,” “all peoples will visit a art gallery,” and “that’s income are use.” These patterns make relationships between ideas harder to understand. Practise forming accurate subject–verb patterns and using articles and plurals, then combine related points with controlled clauses such as “If the building is renovated, it can provide…” Careful punctuation and capitalisation will also make the response easier to read.
