Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, some people believe that old buildings should be restored even this can be costly. While others argue that governments should replace them with modern buildings. In my views, both play an important role that old buidling should be restored because it increase knowldege about ancient history and modern buidling helps to increase in tourism.

On the one hand, old building such as town halls and art galleries should be renovated because it teach us about ancient time. Art galleries preserve ancient time pictures of king and queen, vintage items. This tecah about how acient people survived. For example, teacher teach students about king and queen then this art galleries give us real exposure with that product. Like how people survive during 1000BC. What they wear, moreover how they protect themselves. As a result these art aglleries and town halls help us to guide and student get exposure to ehance knowledge from those places.

However, soem people believe agrue that replacing them modern building increase tourism. This is because, old buidling can fall anytime. So due to this they banned that place to visit however people not able to get proper experience and exposure of those place it feel like useless to spend money their. If building replaced modern technology it having stairs, elevator, Buid air conditioner, Perserve ancient items in proper mirror cabinet with proper lighting increase employment and tourism both. Poor people get security guards jobs and more tourist will come from different place to get expereince of new-advance buidling. It will benefit the government. They use that extra money for adding more advance features in that building like adding 3d views and good sound effect.

In conclusion, old building which required to restored then giverment should pay for that to restore their value and place which we find need modern buidling sructure for that government should invest more to increase tourism. In my opinion, If government combine both the approaches then it give better result it not only increase tourism but also improve employment opportunities and enhance knowledge of students regarding ancient art galleries.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and give a clear overall preference for combining restoration with modern improvements. The first body paragraph explains the educational value of preserving galleries and town halls, while the second presents safety, visitor experience, employment and tourism as reasons for modernisation. These are relevant points, and examples such as displaying historical objects help illustrate your argument. However, some ideas are less fully developed than others: the claim that modern buildings increase tourism is asserted rather than supported with a specific example, and the distinction between restoring a building and replacing it is not always clear. Explain when each approach is appropriate and develop the supporting examples more precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views and a conclusion. Transitions such as “On the one hand,” “However” and “In conclusion” help signal the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several points are joined without clear relationships. For example, the second body paragraph moves from building safety to visitor experience, facilities, jobs and government revenue in quick succession. Some linking phrases are also mechanical or unclear, such as “As a result” before a broad summary. Group related points, use clearer topic sentences, and make references such as “that place” and “those places” more precise to improve cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “renovated,” “ancient history,” “exposure,” “employment opportunities” and “tourism.” This gives you some means of discussing preservation and development. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make parts of the argument difficult to understand, for example “increase in tourism,” “real exposure with that product” and “modern building increase tourism.” Repeated use of “building,” “increase” and “experience” also reduces flexibility. Aim to learn topic-specific phrases in natural combinations and check spelling carefully; more accurate choices will make your ideas clearer without requiring unusually advanced vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and attempts at longer, more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “if.” This shows an effort to vary sentence forms. However, many complex attempts are not controlled, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence boundaries sometimes make meaning hard to follow. For instance, “it teach us” and “it increase” need subject–verb agreement, while “If building replaced modern technology it having stairs” lacks a clear, correctly formed clause. The opening also contains a sentence fragment beginning “While others argue.” Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement and punctuation before adding further clauses.
