Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the question and state a clear preference for individual sports in the introduction and conclusion. The discussion of team sports gives relevant benefits, including teamwork, communication and learning from others; the individual-sports paragraph explains independence and confidence. These points are appropriate, but some are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that individual sports build confidence would be stronger with a specific example of how training or competition develops it. The team-sports discussion also focuses mainly on skills and could explain more clearly why these benefits matter. To strengthen the response, develop each main point with a concrete example and make the comparison behind your opinion more explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. Paragraphs generally stay focused, and linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “Moreover,” “However” and “As a result” help show relationships between ideas. However, some connections feel mechanical, and the opening repeats the examples of tennis and swimming in a fragment rather than integrating them into the sentence. The conclusion also repeats the same claim about individual sports instead of briefly synthesising the comparison. Use referencing more precisely—for instance, clarify who “they” refers to—and vary transitions by showing the specific relationship between each supporting point and the main idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “teamwork,” “communication skills,” “self-confidence” and “achieve their goal,” so the main ideas are understandable. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, such as “improment,” “soluction,” “instreactor” and “waching.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, including “learn something new with the help of watching each other” and “come up with a solution of the problem.” These errors sometimes make the reader work to interpret your meaning. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common word partnerships, such as “find a solution to a problem” and “gain confidence,” then use a few more precise terms to avoid repeating “beneficial” and “learn.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including explanations with “This is because,” results with “As a result,” and a conditional example beginning “if they want to achieve first place.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “individual sports are more beneficial are more beneficial” repeats the predicate, while “the student will have to learn every think” has an incorrect construction. There are also problems with articles, agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “playing team sports, such as football will lead” and “However. playing individual sports.” Practise forming complete sentences, checking subject–verb agreement and articles, and using commas after introductory phrases. Editing for repeated clauses would also improve accuracy.
