Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that playing sports has many types of benefits. While, some people believe that playing team sports like football is more beneficial than playing individual sports such as tennis or swimming, others contand that individual sports are more beneficial. This essay will discuss both perspectives before concluding that team sports are more beneficial because it provides confidence and support.
On the one hand, I would argue that playing team sports is more beneficial. Firstly, it help players in terms of motivation and support. This means players didn't feel nervous before facing any difficult opponent. For instance, in football if one team is facing other team who has won more tournaments than him, the players of weaker side will buckup each other and come with confidence to face that team and sometimes they even defeat that team.Secondly, playing in team environment also give a sense of suppport and cooperation, all players help each other in case if anyone is facing any difficulty. Therefore, it is understandable for some people to advocate for this view.
On the other hand, there are convincing reasons to support playing individual sports. The main argument is that it helps individual create a name in the society. This means if only one player is playing he have clear chance of getting famous. For instance, in individual sports if only player wins or loss society will remember his name, while in contrast in team sports reward is given to whole team and responsibility of winning or losing is on whole teams, any single person performance is not recognized more. But this can be solved if individual player perform consistantly.
In conclusion, there are many merits of individuals sports, but it seems to me playing team sports is more valuable. This is due to its support, motivation and cooperation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and make your position clear: the introduction and conclusion favour team sports, while separate body paragraphs discuss team and individual sports. The points about encouragement, cooperation, and recognition are relevant, and the football example helps illustrate how teammates can motivate one another. However, the two sides are not developed equally. The argument that individual sports can help a player become well known is explained, but its significance is not explored as fully as the benefits of team support. The final sentence of that paragraph, “But this can be solved if individual player perform consistantly,” is also unclear about what problem is being solved. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation and example to make the discussion more balanced and convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two paragraphs presenting opposing views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. Within paragraphs, however, some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “This means” is repeated to introduce explanations, and “But this can be solved” does not clearly refer to a specific problem. The long football example also runs several ideas together, making the relationship between the weaker team’s situation and its eventual success harder to follow. Use a wider range of linking methods, make references explicit, and divide complex explanations into clearer sentences to improve cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “motivation,” “cooperation,” “opponent,” and “responsibility.” Some attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “a sense of support,” are appropriate, but word choice and collocation are not consistently natural. Phrases such as “create a name in the society” and “come with confidence” make the intended meaning understandable but sound awkward; “gain recognition” and “face the challenge confidently” would be more idiomatic. There are also spelling errors, including “contand,” “buckup,” “suppport,” and “consistantly.” Improving spelling and choosing more precise, natural collocations would make the argument clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “While” and explanations introduced by “This means.” The overall meaning is generally clear, but some errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction remain. For example, “it help players” should be “it helps players,” and “if only one player is playing he have clear chance” needs a subject-verb correction and an article. In “all players help each other in case if anyone is facing,” the conditional structure is awkward and could be simplified. Punctuation also needs attention, particularly the missing space after the full stop in “team.That.” Check agreement and articles when editing, and aim for more accurate complex sentences.
