Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, reaching only 73 words. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed. While you have attempted to identify some main features, such as the increase in working time and the decrease in sleeping time, the analysis is severely underdeveloped. Many categories from the charts are omitted, and the comparison between the two years is incomplete. To improve, you must ensure you cover all data points provided in the charts and provide a more comprehensive summary that meets the length requirement to allow for full development of your ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response lacks a clear logical progression. While you have attempted an 'Overall' statement, the subsequent paragraph is fragmented and lacks cohesive devices to link ideas effectively. The final sentence is incomplete ('Working'), which disrupts the flow of the text. To improve, use linking words such as 'whereas', 'in contrast', or 'consequently' to connect your sentences. Additionally, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that your ideas are fully expressed rather than left as fragments.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You have used basic terms like 'highest' and 'second highest' repeatedly. There are also noticeable errors in word choice and form, such as 'dramatical increased' (should be 'dramatically increased') and 'slight deliced' (should be 'slightly declined'). To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'surged', 'witnessed a marginal decrease', or 'remained stable'. Focus on using adverbs and adjectives correctly to describe the degree of change.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. For example, 'The two pie charts illustrates' contains a subject-verb agreement error (should be 'illustrate'). The sentence 'Going out with friends witnessed fell' is grammatically incorrect; it should be 'Going out with friends witnessed a fall'. Your sentence structures are very simple, and the lack of completion in the final sentence indicates a lack of control. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring subjects and verbs agree, and practice using more complex structures like relative clauses or passive voice where appropriate.
