Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers all key features of the charts and makes relevant comparisons. You successfully identified the main trends, such as the increase in working hours and the shift in leisure activities. However, there are some inaccuracies in data reporting. For example, you state that 'one-forth' (one-fourth) of time was spent working in 1958, but the chart shows 33%. Additionally, the description of the 2008 data contains some confusion regarding the percentage changes. To reach a higher band, ensure that your data extraction is precise and that you clearly distinguish between the two years throughout the report.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. There is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'In contrary' (though this is a collocation error) and 'Furthermore' to link ideas. However, the referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences can feel a bit mechanical. To improve, work on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your transitions between sentences are smoother to guide the reader through your analysis more effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'utilization', and 'dwindled'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'at commenced year', 'half of it time', and 'time took for playing sports'. These errors occasionally distract the reader. To achieve a higher score, focus on using collocations correctly and refining your word choice to ensure it sounds more natural and precise in an academic context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is good. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with articles ('the highest percentage'), verb tense consistency, and preposition usage ('spent on working in both year'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall clarity of your writing. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles would significantly improve the accuracy of your sentences.
