The pie charts below show how working adults in a particular country spent their time in 1958 and 2008.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The sets of pie chart compares proportion of how employed adults utilizes their day on multiple activities namely going out with friends and family, travelling to work, sleeping, relaxing at home, playing sports and working in a particular country in 1958 and 2008.

It has been clearly observed that, in 1958 working individual had spending long hours in working that is 33%. From the whole day this group of people occupied 32% in sleeping. Going out with friends and family was 19% from total time they have free in day. Activity like Relaxing at home and commutation had negligible percentage of day spent which was 8% and 2%. In sports activity they spent around 7% hours.

In contrast in 2008, Hours spent in working activity increased by 9% as it was 42%. However, engaged people in sleeping and going out with friends and family had reduced their hours spent to 25% and 6% from 32% and 19%.
