Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the task by identifying the main features and comparing the two years. However, the analysis is somewhat inconsistent. For instance, you mention that 'going out with friends or family' decreased in 2008, but the data provided in the prompt (which I am treating as ground truth) shows that this category actually increased from 19% to 22%. Additionally, some descriptions are vague, such as 'most of individuals was busy in doing there work which nearly about 33%'. To improve, ensure your data extraction is precise and that you focus on the most significant trends rather than listing every percentage point, which can lead to a mechanical report.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'Overall', 'In detail', and 'On the other hand' to signal transitions. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing and repetitive sentence structures. The use of referencing is sometimes unclear, and the logical progression between sentences could be smoother. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that connects logically to the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey the basic meaning. However, there are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'thrie' instead of 'their', 'ralaxing' instead of 'relaxing', and 'eass' instead of 'was'. These errors occasionally distract the reader. You rely on simple descriptors like 'high level' or 'much of time'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to data description, such as 'proportion', 'fluctuated', or 'significant increase', and pay closer attention to spelling and word formation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('the pie charts illustrates', 'the most of individuals was busy') and incorrect verb tenses ('work has been done', 'sleep activity is reduce'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas. While these errors do not completely prevent communication, they are frequent enough to impact the overall clarity of your writing. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will significantly improve your score.
