Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to summarize the data but fails to provide a clear overview of the main trends. While it identifies some key figures, the analysis is fragmented and lacks a cohesive comparison between the two years. The description of the data is often inaccurate; for instance, the claim that working increased by 9% is not supported by the provided charts, and the mention of '06 six types of activities' is confusing. To improve, you must focus on identifying the most significant changes and similarities rather than listing individual data points. Ensure your summary accurately reflects the visual information provided.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is weak. The use of cohesive devices is limited and often mechanical or misused, such as 'in addition' and 'in contrast', which do not always connect ideas logically. The referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between 1958 and 2008. To achieve a higher score, use a wider range of linking words to connect your sentences and ensure that each paragraph has a clear focus, such as grouping similar activities or contrasting the two years more effectively.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. There are several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'proportion rate' and 'at peak only'. The phrasing 'proportion of adults who are spent their day' is grammatically incorrect and unnatural. You rely on basic descriptors like 'highest' and 'rose'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to data description, such as 'accounted for', 'constituted', 'experienced a decline', or 'remained stable'. Expanding your range of synonyms will help you describe the charts with greater accuracy and sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('proportion of adults who are spent'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often contain errors, such as 'where sleeping is nearly to one third portion'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for minor errors in articles and prepositions.
