Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers the main features of the charts, but the analysis is somewhat superficial. While you identify key changes, such as the decrease in sleep and the rise in work, the description lacks precision. For example, you mention 'many up and downs' which is vague. To reach a higher band, you should group data more logically and provide more accurate comparisons between the two years. Some statements, such as 'playing sports is consistent', are not fully supported by the data provided in the prompt. Ensure that all trends are clearly linked to the specific figures shown in the charts.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'it means this will also moves down' and 'On the other hand' are used in ways that do not always create a smooth logical flow. The referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult to track which data point is being discussed. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'things', 'moves', and 'value'. There are several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'adults sleepings' instead of 'time spent sleeping' and 'adults of 2008 more wants to relaxing'. These errors occasionally impede the clarity of your message. To improve, you should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'experienced a significant increase', rather than relying on informal phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('adults... wants to relaxing'), tense inconsistencies ('percentage will decrease' when describing past data), and awkward phrasing ('there is two only two years'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and correct tense usage.
