The pie charts below show how working adults in a particular country spent their time in 1958 and 2008.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The pie charts depicts the amount of time working adults spent on different activities in 1958 and 2008.

Overall, The highest amount of time spent by adult workers is on working in both the years while the least amount of time given to travelling to work and going out with friends/family in 1958 and 2008 respectively.

In terms of time spent on working , the maximum time invested by adult workers was 33% 1958 which increased to 42% in 2008. Sleeping was the second priority activity in 1958 with 32% and 25% in 2008.

In terms of going out with family and friends much time was invested in 1958 that account for 19% which dropped to 6% in 2008. Relaxing at home was 8% in 1958 with increased to 13% in 2008.

The least amount of preferred activity is travelling to work that is 2% only in 1958 which slightly rose to 7% in 2008. In 2008, adult workers spent 7% of their time on playing sports that was not introduced in 1958.
