Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers the main features of the pie charts, but the presentation of data is often inaccurate or confusing. For example, the statement that sleeping declined to 25% in 2008 is factually incorrect based on typical data for this task, and the comparison of 'relaxing at home' and 'working' is muddled by poor phrasing. While you attempted to select key features, the lack of clarity in reporting figures and the failure to provide a clear, accurate overview of the trends significantly hinders the reader's understanding of the data.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or misused, such as 'On having a look at the pie graph' and 'Probing ahead', which sound unnatural in an academic context. Referencing is frequently unclear, particularly when comparing multiple categories in a single sentence. The overall structure lacks the necessary flow to guide the reader effectively through the comparison of the two time periods.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often inappropriate for an academic report. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'amount of same group percentage was inclined at 6%' and 'the amount stood at grow up only 5%'. Phrases like 'sleeping side' and 'working sacter' are non-standard and impede communication. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to express numerical changes accurately, which prevents you from reaching a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often obscure the intended meaning. There are issues with sentence structure, such as run-on sentences and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'the amount was boosting', 'new playing sports is crat'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, and there is a lack of complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally discernible, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and syntax makes the text difficult to follow at times.
