Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, as it is incomplete and ends abruptly mid-sentence. While you have identified some main features, such as the increase in working time and the decrease in sleep, the analysis is underdeveloped. You have not fully reported on all categories shown in the charts, and the lack of a complete conclusion or final summary significantly impacts the task achievement. To improve, ensure you cover all data points provided in the diagrams and provide a clear, comprehensive overview that synthesizes the information rather than just listing individual changes. The incomplete nature of the response prevents a higher score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive start. However, the logical flow is hindered by the incomplete ending. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore', 'In contrast', and 'Moreover', the connection between ideas is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as the transition in the second paragraph. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the abrupt termination of the text disrupts the overall coherence. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, completed thought that leads naturally into the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'spending time' and 'great impact'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'working space' instead of 'work' or 'employment', and 'sleeping time effected by' instead of 'affected by'. To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and precise terminology related to data description, such as 'a significant shift', 'proportion', or 'fluctuation'. Expanding your range of synonyms will help you avoid repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains several grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. For example, 'The pie charts given below illustrates' contains a subject-verb agreement error, and 'they were spend less time' is grammatically incorrect. You rely mostly on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences often contain errors, such as 'the sleeping time effected by giving more time at working space'. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and tense consistency. Additionally, practice using complex structures like relative clauses or passive voice more accurately to demonstrate a wider grammatical range.
