Student answer (Band 7.5)
The pie charts draw a conclusion on percentages of the day spent by working adults on various activities in 1958 and 2008.
Overall, working accounted for the largest share of an adult's day in both years, experiencing a considerable increase over the 50-year period. In contrast, the time dedicated to sleeping and socializing declined significantly, while domestic relaxation and commuting became more prominent parts of the daily routine.
In 1958, working and sleeping were the two dominant activities, taking up 32% and 33% of the day. Going out with family or friends was the next common pursuit at 19%. Meanwhile, adults allocated 8% of their time to relaxing at home, 6% to playing sports or other hobbies, and a mere 2% to traveling to work
In 2008, the proportion of time spent working grew substantially to 42%, solidifying its position as the primary daily activity. Conversely, sleeping time dropped to a quarter of the day (25%). Socializing outside the home experienced the most dramatic decline, falling by more than two-thirds to just 6%. On the other hand, time spent relaxing at home rose to 13%, and the figure for traveling to work quadrupled to 8%. The share for sports and other interests remained largely unchanged, showing a minor adjustment to 8%

You have used a variety of cohesive devices effectively, such as 'In contrast', 'Meanwhile', 'Conversely', and 'On the other hand', which help the reader follow the comparison between 1958 and 2008. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the information flows smoothly throughout the text. There is no evidence of mechanical or repetitive linking, and the referencing is clear throughout.

The majority of your sentences are error-free, and the punctuation is used correctly to support the flow of information.
