Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers the main features of the pie charts, such as the increase in working hours and the decrease in time spent with family. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial and lacks a clear, professional overview. While you identified some trends, the report relies heavily on listing percentages rather than synthesizing the data to make meaningful comparisons. The concluding sentence is vague and does not effectively summarize the key shifts in lifestyle over the fifty-year period. To improve, focus on grouping related data points and highlighting the most significant changes rather than describing each category in isolation.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between sentences is often mechanical and repetitive. You use basic linking words like 'Looking the details' and 'In contrast', but the progression of ideas is hindered by awkward phrasing and a lack of sophisticated cohesive devices. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the final sentence where the comparison to '2008' is confusing. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks logical development, making the text feel like a list of observations rather than a cohesive report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying on basic verbs like 'spent', 'work', and 'playing'. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'downward movement of working' instead of 'a decrease in working hours' and 'high standards and things' which is imprecise. Spelling errors, such as 'thier' instead of 'their', also occur. To reach a higher band, you need to use a wider range of vocabulary related to data description, such as 'proportion', 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'witnessed a significant rise'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the adults use to work'), incorrect preposition usage (e.g., 'decreased in 7%'), and awkward sentence structures (e.g., 'the year 2008 has more working period of adults'). While you attempt to use complex sentences, they are often faulty, leading to confusion. The punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces and missing commas. Focusing on basic sentence construction and ensuring correct verb tenses will help improve your accuracy.
