Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response successfully covers all parts of the task by identifying the main features and making relevant comparisons between 1958 and 2008. You provided a clear overview and supported your points with specific data from the charts. However, there are minor inaccuracies in the data reporting, such as stating that 'sleeping' was 32% in 1958 when the chart indicates 32% for 'sleeping' but the text also mentions 'relaxing at home' as 8%. The comparison of trends is generally well-handled, though the inclusion of 'playing sports' in 1958 is missing from the data provided in the prompt, which you correctly identified as a 2008-only activity. Overall, the response is well-structured and addresses the prompt effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'However', 'In addition', 'In contrast', and 'whereas' to link ideas. While the progression is generally clear, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with paragraphing and spacing, such as the lack of spaces after periods (e.g., 'common. In addition, adults'). The referencing is generally clear, but the flow could be improved by ensuring consistent spacing and punctuation to make the text more readable. Overall, the organization is sufficient to guide the reader through the information.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportions', 'considerably', 'significant', and 'devoted'. However, there are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'adultes', 'thye', 'relexing', 'finnaly', 'b dropped') and some awkward phrasing such as 'year1958' and 'travelling to working'. These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, though they do not impede overall communication. To reach a higher band, you should focus on accuracy in spelling and more precise collocations, such as 'travelling to work' instead of 'travelling to working'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'While the proportion of time spent working had risen...'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles (e.g., 'in particular spent their time'), prepositions, and punctuation. For instance, 'making in the largest activity' should be 'making it the largest activity'. There are also issues with sentence boundaries and spacing, which affect the overall accuracy. While you attempt complex structures, the frequency of errors in basic grammar and punctuation prevents a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and article usage would be beneficial.
