Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to summarize the data, but it fails to provide a clear overview or accurately report the main features. The description of the data is often imprecise, such as stating that 'sleeping come after it at a similar level' without referencing the actual percentages. Furthermore, the claim that 'people Working are more than 9% than 1958' is mathematically inaccurate based on the provided data. The report lacks a logical selection of key features, and the comparison between the two years is underdeveloped. To improve, focus on identifying the most significant changes and using the data to support your observations rather than making vague generalizations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical or misused, such as 'just like, going out with friend/ families'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between 1958 and 2008. The transition between the introduction, the overview, and the body paragraphs is weak. To improve, use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'in contrast', 'conversely', 'meanwhile') to connect your ideas more fluidly and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, which restricts the ability to convey information precisely. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'throughout the two tenure', 'most least people', and 'backdays'. These errors occasionally impede the clarity of the report. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise terminology for describing trends (e.g., 'a significant decline', 'remained stable', 'accounted for') and avoid informal or non-standard expressions. Expanding your range of vocabulary to include more academic collocations will significantly enhance your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that affect the accuracy of the information provided. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('The given pie chart illustrate'), incorrect tense usage ('people are spending more time on Working'), and awkward sentence structures. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and punctuation prevents the text from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement, consistent tense usage when describing past data, and refining your sentence structure to ensure that complex ideas are expressed accurately.
