Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the score. While you have attempted to identify some trends, the analysis is superficial and lacks a clear overview of the main features. The data reporting is inconsistent; for instance, you mention 'sleeping percentage shows decline' but do not provide the specific figures to support this. Furthermore, the comparison between 1958 and 2008 is fragmented. To improve, ensure you include a clear introductory summary, group related data logically, and provide precise data points for all categories mentioned to ensure the task is fully addressed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a logical structure. The paragraphing is ineffective, with the second paragraph containing a jumble of disparate points. While you use some cohesive devices like 'furthermore' and 'in addition', they are often used mechanically or incorrectly, such as 'Despite that there was 19% were prefer'. The progression of ideas is unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the two years. To improve, focus on organizing your response into a clear introduction, an overview paragraph, and two body paragraphs that group data by theme or trend.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate. Phrases like 'adults employer' (should be 'employed adults') and 'collates' (used incorrectly to mean 'shows' or 'illustrates') demonstrate a lack of precision. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle with collocations, such as 'playing sports is almost negligible'. The repetition of 'in 2008' and 'in the era 1958' indicates a restricted range. To reach a higher band, you need to use a wider variety of vocabulary related to data description, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'accounted for', and ensure words are used in their correct grammatical context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that impede clarity. Examples include 'illustrates that how adults employer', 'as the time change', and '19% were prefer to going out'. Punctuation is also problematic, with missing spaces after periods and inconsistent capitalization. The sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting more complex constructions. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct preposition usage, and basic sentence construction. Proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect verb forms will help improve your accuracy significantly.
