Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response identifies some key features, such as the percentages for working and sleeping, but the analysis is superficial and lacks a clear, logical structure. The overview is weak, as it merely states there were differences rather than highlighting the most significant trends (e.g., the increase in working hours and the decrease in time spent going out). The data reporting is often inaccurate or confusing, such as the claim that 'working adults had the highest range' in 1958, which is unclear terminology. To improve, focus on grouping data logically—such as comparing categories that increased versus those that decreased—and ensure that the data points cited are accurate and clearly linked to the specific year.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is divided into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'while' and 'it was about'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the two years. For example, the final sentence, 'While comparing both in 2008 year they had the highest range of activities,' is confusing and does not effectively summarize the comparison. Improving the use of transition signals and ensuring each paragraph has a clear focus would significantly enhance the flow of the report.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic terms like 'range', 'activity', and 'had'. There is a lack of variety in reporting verbs or comparative language. Phrases like 'highest range' are used incorrectly to describe a percentage or a proportion. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more precise vocabulary related to data description, such as 'proportion', 'accounted for', 'witnessed a rise', or 'remained stable'. Additionally, avoid using the same word repeatedly in a single sentence; instead, use synonyms or rephrase the sentence structure to demonstrate a wider range of lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with article usage ('in a main country'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. Many sentences are poorly constructed, such as 'later sleeping activity had 32% but travelling activity consist 2%'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before periods and commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction limits the score. To improve, focus on mastering simple sentence structures before attempting more complex ones, and pay closer attention to verb tenses and pluralization.
