Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers the main features of the data and provides a clear overview. You successfully identified the key trends, such as the increase in working time and the decrease in time spent sleeping and socializing. However, the report could be improved by ensuring more accurate data representation; for instance, you mentioned a '9% hike' in working time, which is a good analytical step, but ensure all comparisons are precise. The overview is present but could be more integrated into the structure. Overall, you have addressed the requirements of the task well by selecting and reporting the main features.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'Similarly', 'On contrast', and 'Following it' to link sentences. However, some of these transitions are used slightly awkwardly or with incorrect punctuation (e.g., 'On contrast' should be 'In contrast'). Additionally, the referencing is sometimes repetitive, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring correct punctuation would elevate the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'significantly', 'dramatically', and 'marginally'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'convers 42%' instead of 'accounts for 42%' and 'grew till 7%' instead of 'rose to 7%'. There are also minor spelling and capitalization errors throughout the text (e.g., 'In the both figure'). To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring consistent accuracy in word choice.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('The pie chart illustrate', 'working cover 33%') and article usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary commas and capitalization issues (e.g., 'In 1958, working cover... but, In 2008 , it convers'). While these errors do not prevent communication, they are frequent enough to limit the score. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will help improve your accuracy.
