Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the 150-word minimum requirement, which severely impacts the task achievement score. Because the response is only 70 words long, it fails to provide a detailed summary or report the main features of the data. It lacks the necessary body paragraphs to compare the specific percentages for the various activities in 1958 and 2008. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed, and the information is too limited to meet the requirements for a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is too brief to demonstrate effective paragraphing or a logical progression of ideas. While there is a basic introduction and a very short overview, the lack of body paragraphs means there is no opportunity to use cohesive devices to link information or compare data points. The structure is fragmented, and the text does not flow as a cohesive report. To improve, you must expand your response into distinct paragraphs that logically group and compare the data provided in the charts.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally accurate but very limited in range. Phrases like 'time consumption' and 'professional commitments' are appropriate for the context, but the overall vocabulary is too basic to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. There is no attempt to use less common lexical items or precise terminology related to data description (e.g., 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', 'accounted for'). Expanding your vocabulary to include more descriptive verbs and nouns related to trends is essential.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The grammar is mostly accurate in the few sentences provided, with no major errors that impede communication. However, the range of structures is extremely limited. The response consists of simple sentence constructions and lacks the complex sentence forms (such as subordinate clauses or comparative structures) necessary to achieve a higher band. Because the text is so short, it is impossible to demonstrate a wide range of grammatical control. You need to practice incorporating complex sentences to describe changes over time.
