Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response effectively covers all key features of the two pie charts. You have successfully identified the main trends, such as the dominance of working and sleeping, and made relevant comparisons between the two years. The overview is clear and provides a good summary of the data. However, to reach a higher band, you could improve the analytical depth by grouping categories more effectively or highlighting more significant shifts, such as the notable increase in working hours. The data is accurately reported, and the inclusion of specific percentages supports your points well.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5

The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs focusing on the specific years. The progression of ideas is easy to follow. You use cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'In addition', 'By contrast', and 'Turning to' to link your points effectively. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the general trends from the specific data points. The flow is smooth, and the referencing is clear throughout the text, ensuring that the reader can easily track the information provided.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly. Phrases like 'accounted for the highest proportion', 'constituted the highest percentage', and 'remained unchanged' are used correctly. While the vocabulary is functional and accurate, it is somewhat repetitive, relying heavily on the word 'proportion' and 'percentage'. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate a wider variety of synonyms and more sophisticated collocations to describe trends and data, such as 'represented a significant share' or 'experienced a marginal shift'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.0

The response shows a good control of grammatical structures. You use a mix of simple and complex sentences, and the majority of your sentences are error-free. Punctuation is generally accurate, and your use of tense is consistent with the historical data provided. There are no significant errors that impede communication. To improve, you could experiment with more varied sentence structures, such as using participle clauses (e.g., 'Rising from 33% to 42%, working hours became the dominant activity') to increase the complexity and flow of your writing.
