The pie charts below show how working adults in a particular country spent their time in 1958 and 2008.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

This chart illustrates how the time is spent by employed adults of a particular country between the year 1958 and 2008.

Overall, it is evident that in 1958 most of the people were either engaged in work or preferred to sleep. In contast, the year 2008 had seen a significant growth in working and a sharp decline in sleeping.

It is clear that only 33% of the adults in 1958 preferred working, while in 2008 it has increased to 42%. Around 32% of the working population preferred sleeping in the year 1958. Whereas in 2008 this number has decreased to 25%. Back then close to 19% of the people spent time with their families. This has now decresed to 6% in 2008.

Only 2% of the adults travelled to work in 1958, This number has increased to 7%. Moreover, a small percentage of people liked to play sports in the 90's. Whereas close to 7% of them prefer playing sports in 2008.
