The pie charts below show how working adults in a particular country spent their time in 1958 and 2008.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The pie charts compares how working individuals in a particular nation spent their timespan between 1958 and 2008. Overall, it can be seen that working accounted for the largest proportion in both years, while the second highest proportion on which the people spent their time, was the sleeping. However, travelling to work was on the lowest proportion in which people spent their time. In 1958, the upmost acticivty in which people used their time, was the working activity, at 33%, which increased in the year 2008, at the proportio of 42%. Moreover, sleeping accounted for the second biggest percentage in 1958, at 32%, followed by 2008, its percentage went down to 25%. Turning to the lowest percentaged activities, relaxing at home accounted for 8% in 1958 and 13% in 2008. Furthermore, going out with family/friends was on the 19% in 1958, while its figure fell to 6% in 2008. On top of that, travelling to work was on the lowest proportion in 1958, at 2% only that goes slightly up in 2008, at 7%.
