IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The pie charts below show how working adults in a particular country spent their time in 1958 and 2008.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The pie charts demonstrate the changes in the activites of the migrants they performed in 1958 and 2008. Workers spent their most of time at workplace rather than other activities. Over 10 years of time their recreational activites shared smaller portion.

Ault's life style from the graph shows that they involved less in excrution with only 6% share as compared to the 1958 where they spent 19 percent of their time with family and friends. In addition, their employment history reveals that migrants spent only 33 percent of their whole time on employment in 1958. However, ten years later this segment increased by 9% in 2008.

Futhermore, they needed more time for rest at home as compare to 1958. Thus, this relaxation affects their sleeping habit by 7%. Because of high work pressure, they reduced their time for family gathering and outing with friends almost 11%. overall, their habits changed completely over decades.
