Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response makes an attempt to summarise the main features of the pie charts, noting key changes such as the rise in working hours from 33% to 42% and the drop in sleeping hours. However, there are significant inaccuracies in data reporting; for instance, the writer states that sleeping decreased by 8% in 2009 (referring to 2008) and makes a confusing reference regarding relaxing increasing by "135" (likely a typo for 13% or 13.5%). Furthermore, the overview lacks precision and the response fails to meet the minimum word count of 150 words, coming in at 139 words. Consequently, the task has only been partially addressed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response attempts a basic structure with an introduction, overall statement, and body details, but the lack of proper paragraphing and mechanical use of cohesive devices restricts coherence. Transitions such as "A glance at the pie charts, reveal" and "Futher analises of the chats shows" are awkward and frequently inaccurate. Referencing is often unclear, such as pronoun usage and timeline references, making the logical progression difficult to follow at times. The overall organisational structure remains underdeveloped.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
Vocabulary is basic and heavily constrained, with frequent spelling errors throughout the text (e.g., "demonstract", "indiviudals", "compera", "activitys", "incressed", "decressed", "Futher", "analises", "chats", "workinf"). While the student attempts some less common vocabulary such as "kit and kins" (an idiom used incorrectly here), the high frequency of lexical inaccuracies and spelling mistakes severely impacts the clarity of the response and strains the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
The response contains a very limited range of grammatical structures, and simple sentences often contain fundamental errors. There are frequent issues with subject-verb agreement, tense consistency (mixing past and present references awkwardly), and preposition use (e.g., "spent more time in working compera to other activitys"). Punctuation and sentence boundaries are frequently faulty. Error frequency is very high, causing constant difficulty for the reader.
