The pie charts below show how working adults in a particular country spent their time in 1958 and 2008.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The given pie chart illustrates the percentages of the day spent by working adults on various activities in 1958 and 2008.

Overall, it is clearly seen from the graph that all people had spent their majority of time in working in both years, whereas travelling to work remaind less popular. Playing sports emerged as new activity in 2008.

In 1958, working and sleeping accounted for the largest shares of time, at 33% and 32% respectively. However, by 2008, the proportion of time dedicated to work rose significantly to 42%, while the figures for sleeping dropped to 25%.

Marked changes were also observed in how people spent their leisure and travel time. Time spent going out with friends and family plummeted from 19% in 1958 to just 6% in 2008. In contrast, relaxing at home grew more popular, increasing from 8% to 13%. Time spent on travelling to work also increased from 2% in 1958 to 7% in 2008. Finally, playing sports emerged as a new category in 2008, accounting for 7% of people's time, whereas it was not recorded in 1958.
