Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, stopping at only 117 words. Furthermore, the selection and reporting of data are very limited and inaccurate in places. For instance, the student states that working activities accounted for 33% in both charts, whereas the data shows 33% for 1958 and 42% for 2008. Sleeping is incorrectly assigned 33% instead of 32% for 1958, and some data points are completely misunderstood or confused, resulting in a minimal and incomplete response to the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

The text lacks clear overall progression and logical paragraphing, as it is written as a single, dense block of text without proper sentence boundaries or punctuation. Cohesive devices are largely absent or misused, leading to run-on sentences like 'overall it is lucid that...'. While there is a loose attempt to move through different parts of the data, the lack of punctuation and clear discourse markers makes the arrangement difficult to follow and results in a highly fragmented reading experience.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with several instances of incorrect word choices, spelling errors, and awkward collocations. Examples of lexical weaknesses include 'adultts', 'activitie', 'aqnd', 'heighest', 'activcity', and 'consedering'. The student attempts to use some task-related vocabulary such as 'percentage', 'activities', and 'travelling', but the frequent inaccuracies in word form and spelling restrict communication and keep the lexical range at a basic level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on faulty run-on sentences joined by commas or lacking punctuation entirely. There are frequent errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and articles, such as 'The pie chart represent' instead of 'represents', and 'the working activities was' instead of 'were'. Punctuation is almost completely neglected throughout the text, leading to severe structural issues that occasionally strain the reader's understanding.
