The above given diagrams represent significant change in lifestyle of working adults from 1958 to 2008. The time spent to reach at work has reportedly increased while the time spent outside with friends and family has drastically decreased of which increased percentage can also be seen on time spent at work. The busy life at work has also seem to affect the sleeping pattern that has reduced by 8 percent. The time spent relaxing at home has increased from 8% to 13%, this could be the actual time spent at jome and not relaxation time as the people in 2008 are having busier life at work. Though more changes are noted in all the above categories, change in time spent for sports activities is almost same.

n conclusion, the pie chart does not only show the difference but also how people's taste and attitude towards life has also taken a turn in period of 50 years.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the task partially by attempting to summarise the main features of the pie charts, such as the increase in working time and the decrease in sleeping time. However, the selection of data is somewhat incomplete and lacks specific numerical comparisons to fully support the descriptions. Furthermore, the writer includes personal speculation and opinion in the body paragraph, such as questioning whether time spent relaxing at home is 'actual time spent at jome and not relaxation time', which detracts from an objective academic summary. To reach a higher level, the response should present a more fully developed overview with accurate data points and maintain an objective tone throughout without introducing personal commentary.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response shows some organisation with an attempt at an introduction and a conclusion, though the conclusion is mistyped as 'n conclusion'. However, there is a lack of clear overall progression between the ideas, making the transition between sentences feel slightly disjointed. Paragraphing is weak, with the main body compressed into a single dense block of text rather than being logically broken down into distinct analytical points. Cohesive devices are minimal and sometimes repetitive. To improve, the writer needs to employ clearer logical sequencing, utilise a wider range of cohesive links to connect sentences smoothly, and structure the response into properly formatted paragraphs.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, with acceptable attempts to describe trends using words like 'drastically', 'increased', and 'reduced'. However, there are noticeable lexical errors, awkward word choices, and typos, such as 'to reach at work' instead of 'commuting to work', 'jome' instead of 'home', and 'taste and attitude' which is slightly unnatural in this academic context. Less common vocabulary is attempted with some inaccuracy. To achieve a higher band, the student needs to use a more precise and varied range of vocabulary suited to academic data reports, ensuring accurate word forms and eliminating spelling mistakes that occasionally disrupt the flow of reading.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response employs a limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple sentences and basic complex forms, some of which are faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing articles ('lifestyle' instead of 'a lifestyle'), preposition misuse ('time spent to reach at work'), and subject-verb agreement issues, such as 'has also seem to affect'. Punctuation is also neglected in places, leading to run-on phrasing and readability issues. To progress, the writer must demonstrate better control over complex grammatical structures, ensure accurate verb forms and prepositions, and improve punctuation control to reduce the frequency of errors.
