Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify several important comparisons accurately: work rises from 33% to 42%, sleep falls from 32% to 25%, and time spent going out with friends or family drops from 19% to 6%. However, the overview is not reliable: it says that travelling to work declined, although it increased from 2% to 7%, and it overlooks the new sports category in 2008. The opening overview also claims that “each and every” activity increased, which conflicts with the declines you list. Your detailed comparisons are relevant, but the account would be more complete and clear if it included playing sports and distinguished the activities that rose from those that fell. Prioritise an accurate overview of the main changes before adding detail.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, two detail paragraphs and a concluding sentence. The detail paragraphs group several comparisons, and phrases such as “In 2008” help signal a change of year. However, the progression is weakened by the contradiction in the overview about which activities increased or declined, and the final “Hereby, I conclude my report” adds little to a chart summary. Repeated openings such as “Scrutinizing deeper” and “DigginG deeper” make the linking feel mechanical rather than purposeful. Organise the body around clear groups—activities that increased and those that decreased—and use concise transitions to guide the reader through those comparisons.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use a reasonable range of vocabulary for describing data, including “proportion,” “accounted for,” “decreased” and “surging.” These choices show an attempt to vary language beyond simply repeating “went up” or “went down.” Some less common expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, however: “obtainable information,” “highest declined proportion” and “almost 3 folds of it” do not express the comparisons clearly. There are also spelling errors, including “activitiy,” “DigginG” and “whith,” which reduce precision. Aim for standard chart-report collocations and check spelling carefully; straightforward wording such as “the largest decrease” or “more than tripled” would communicate the data more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “while” and “which,” and the main comparisons are generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly in sentence construction and punctuation. For example, “working and sleeping are accounted for the highest proportion” uses an incorrect passive pattern, while “the activity of travelling to work surges” shifts to the present tense when describing past data. The sentence beginning “In 2008, increasing from 9%” also has an unclear modifier, and the brackets and spacing around figures are inconsistent. Use past-tense verbs consistently for the years shown and build comparisons with clear subjects and verbs, such as “Working rose by nine percentage points.”
