Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main overall changes: working takes a larger share in 2008, while sleeping and socialising take smaller shares, and you include several relevant figures. However, the overview is unclear in places, especially “The decline activities had sleeping,” and it does not clearly summarise the full pattern. Some comparisons are also incomplete: for example, sports appears only in 2008, but this is not explicitly contrasted with 1958, and the 2008 figures for travel and sports are grouped confusingly. To strengthen the response, state the key trends clearly in the overview, then compare the largest and smallest categories across both years with accurate, direct descriptions.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic structure, with an opening overview followed by separate paragraphs for 1958 and 2008. This gives the information some organisation, and the years provide a simple framework for comparison. However, progression within sentences is often difficult to follow, as in “The lowest percentages … playing sports and travelling to work had same spend bu working at 7%.” Connections between ideas are also limited, and phrases such as “In context of 2008” do not clearly signal the relationship between the figures. Use clearer topic sentences and link comparisons directly—for example, contrast the rise in working with the fall in sleeping—while keeping each sentence focused on one or two related figures.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

Your vocabulary includes relevant activity labels such as “sleeping,” “travelling to work,” and “going out with friends and family,” so the reader can identify the chart categories. However, the range is limited and several repeated or inaccurate expressions make the report hard to read. Phrases such as “adults on various activities” and “working had grow” are not natural ways to describe proportions, while spelling errors including “spendt,” “increasd,” and “activies” reduce accuracy. Aim to use precise chart language consistently, such as “accounted for,” “rose to,” and “the proportion of time spent,” and check spelling and word forms before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer comparisons, but sentence structures are often incomplete or faulty, which sometimes obscures the intended meaning. For example, “The decline activities had sleeping” lacks a clear grammatical relationship, and “33% of the working was highest” does not form an accurate comparison. There are also recurring problems with verb forms and sentence boundaries, as in “working had grow” and the run-on opening where “2008.Overall” has no space after the full stop. Build reliable sentences with a clear subject and verb, such as “Working accounted for 33% in 1958 and rose to 42% in 2008.” Then check articles, agreement, and punctuation.
