Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify several important changes accurately: work rises from 33% to 42%, sleeping falls from 32% to 25%, and time with friends and family drops from 19% to 6%. You also mention increases in time at home and travelling, and note that sports appears in 2008. However, the response does not give the figures for these latter changes, and it omits the key 2008 value for relaxing at home and the 7% figures for travel and sport. The opening description is unclear, and the final claim that people changed their preferences and felt “better” is not supported by the chart. A clearer overview of the main shifts, followed by precise comparisons, would make the summary more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation: the response begins with an introduction, groups several decreases together, then mentions increases, and ends with a concluding statement. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the opening repeats “comparison” without clearly introducing what the charts show, and the main information is compressed into one long paragraph. Linking phrases such as “Also with that” are repeated and do not always show the relationship between points. The sentence “The things those are for spertuial peace are declined” is also unclear, interrupting the flow. Use separate paragraphs for an overview and key comparisons, and connect related figures with clear, varied transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for describing data, including “decrease,” “increase,” “ratio,” and “declined,” so the reader can recognise the main trends. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “time investment of the life,” “time spend with family,” and “providing value to playing sports.” Spelling errors—including “camprison,” “dispoint,” “descrease,” and “prafferences”—also make the writing less clear. Choose standard chart language and check spelling carefully: for example, describe the “proportion of the day spent” on an activity and say that time “spent” on it “increased” or “fell.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both simple and longer sentence forms, and several comparisons can be understood, such as “There is a huge increase in the ratio of work from 33% to 42%.” However, grammatical errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships unclear. The opening has faulty sentence construction (“This chart made the camprison one the base…”), while “The things those are for spertuial peace are declined” has an unclear relative clause and verb form. There are also problems with articles, prepositions, and sentence boundaries, including the run-on transition after “2008.” Aim for accurate, complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use past-tense forms consistently when reporting the two years.
