Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You identify several important changes accurately: working rises from 33% to 42%, sleeping falls from 32% to 25%, travel increases from 2% to 7%, and going out drops from 19% to 6%. Your overview also recognises the decline in going out and increase in commuting. This gives the response a relevant summary, with enough accurate detail to show the main direction of change. However, the overview is not fully clear, and the opening misrepresents the charts as showing “working time” rather than the share of the day spent on activities. The claim that sports remained constant is unsupported: sports appears only in 2008, at 7%. To strengthen the response, state the biggest overall shifts clearly and report sports as a new category rather than a constant one.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and two detail sections. The figures are generally grouped by activity, and linking expressions such as “but” and “Further more” help signal contrast and continuation. However, the progression is not always smooth. The overview repeats the idea of the charts without clearly summarising the full pattern, and the detail paragraphs move between activities without a consistent grouping. Some links, such as “In details,” are awkward, while repeated use of “the time … spent” makes the writing feel mechanical. Organise the details into clear comparisons—for example, increases in work, travel and home relaxation versus decreases in sleep and socialising—and use concise references to avoid repetition.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant activity vocabulary, including “sleeping,” “relaxing,” “traveling to work,” and “going outside,” so the reader can usually understand the categories being compared. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “spent their working time,” “going outside” for socialising, and “daily routien.” Spelling errors including “treveling,” “amoung,” and “tro” also reduce precision. Repeated forms such as “spent” and “time” make the description less flexible. Aim to use the chart’s category labels accurately and choose standard collocations, such as “spend time on an activity” and “the proportion of the day devoted to work.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a contrast with “but” and a clause beginning “which decreased to 25%.” The main comparisons remain understandable, but grammatical control is inconsistent. For example, “this two pie charts described” has problems with number agreement and verb form, while “the time … is remained constant” uses an incorrect passive construction. Several sentences also have unclear or incomplete structures, as in “overall, this two pie charts described about working time of adults that they spent daily.” Work on accurate present-tense reporting, subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries. A reliable pattern such as “The proportion spent on sleeping fell from 32% to 25%” would help you express comparisons clearly.
