Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify several important changes accurately: working rises from 33% to 42%, sleeping falls from 32% to 25%, and time spent going out drops from 19% to 6%. However, the overview is unclear and does not fully summarise the main pattern. Saying adults spent most of their time “in working and sleeping” is imprecise, and the claim that they spent “very less time” travelling is not a clear comparison of the overall data. The 2008 figure for sports is also misreported: it is 7%, not an increase of 1% (and sports is not listed for 1958). To strengthen the response, give a concise overview of the largest increases and decreases, and report the sports category accurately.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic structure, moving from an introduction and overview to details about the two years, and the figures are generally presented in a readable order. However, progression is weakened by the separate, vague sentence “We can show a big change in going out with friends and family,” which is then repeated in the next paragraph. Linking words such as “Whereas,” “As compaired with,” and “While” are not always used to form complete or clear relationships between ideas. Grouping the increases together and the decreases together would make comparisons easier to follow. Use clear paragraph roles and connect each comparison directly to its figures rather than repeating the same point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “percentages,” “increased,” “decreased,” and “dropped,” so the reader can understand the general subject and direction of change. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “spand … time for working,” “showcase their intrust,” and “increased with 1%.” Frequent spelling errors—including “pic charts,” “mejority,” “compaired,” and “famaly”—also make the writing less clear and reduce precision. Aim for standard chart-reporting phrases and check spelling carefully. For example, describe a category as “accounted for” a percentage, and say that a figure “rose by” or “rose to” the correct amount.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some complex comparisons, for example, “While timke for sleeping was decreased from 32% in 1958 to 25% in 2008,” but sentence structures are limited and errors occur frequently. Some clauses are incomplete or awkwardly joined: “Whereas, they spand very less time for traveling in 1958” does not work as a complete sentence, and “In 1958, adults 19% time they spand…” lacks a clear grammatical structure. There are also problems with verb forms and sentence construction, as in “It dropped only at 6%.” Practise writing complete subject–verb sentences and use consistent past-tense forms, such as “the proportion fell from 19% to 6%.”
