Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, not enough students choosing to study science at university is growing concers in many parts of the world. This essay will outline the main causes of this trend and demonstrate the effects of this on sociaty.
Growing tuition fees for science related demanded subjects are one of the main reasons of this trend in many countries. Universities are charging students high amount of money for science related subjects. Many students cannot able to afford that amount for their studies. Eventually they choose other subjects that are bit affordable in terms of tuition fees. For example, in countries such as the US, the UK or Austrailia are some of the expensive countries to study at science related subjects at university without some sort of scholarship. As a result, less and less students are choosing to study science at university in many countries around the world.
One of the effects of this trend would be less doctors, engeeners and other demandable professional in the near future. The less students choose to study science means there will less professionals to work in any novel profession. This eventually going to hurt sociaties negatively, such as long appoinment waiting to see doctors.
In coclusion, growing tuition fees required by universities eventually casued less students choosing science at university. This trend has negative consequences for society such as growing demand for professiuonals

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both parts of the question: high tuition fees are presented as a cause, and a shortage of doctors and engineers as a social effect. The example of students being unable to afford science courses supports the cause, while longer waits to see doctors illustrates one consequence. However, the response is under the required length: it contains 219 words, and the eight words copied from the prompt are not counted. This limits how fully you can explain the causes and effects. The cause is also quite narrow, and the effects paragraph would benefit from further explanation or another relevant consequence. Develop each main idea with a clear explanation and a specific example to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on effects, and a conclusion. This makes the main line of discussion easy to follow. You also use basic linking expressions such as “For example,” “As a result,” and “In conclusion” to show relationships between ideas. However, the progression within the body paragraphs is sometimes abrupt: the move from expensive study in particular countries to a worldwide decline is asserted rather than fully connected. The conclusion largely repeats the cause and effect without bringing the discussion together, and the final idea is incomplete. Use clearer referencing and develop the links between each claim and its consequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “tuition fees,” “scholarship,” “professionals,” and “consequences,” so the reader can understand the subject of the essay. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or forms make the writing less clear or natural. Examples include “science related demanded subjects,” “demandable professional,” and “novel profession”; these do not express the intended ideas idiomatically. Spelling errors such as “concers,” “sociaty,” and “engeeners” are also noticeable. Aim to use precise collocations for university costs and workforce shortages, and check spelling and word forms carefully. This will make your relevant ideas easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and most of the main ideas can be understood. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in verb forms, sentence structure, and articles. The opening clause, “not enough students choosing,” needs a finite verb, while “Many students cannot able to afford” combines two incompatible verb patterns. In “The less students choose to study science means there will less professionals,” the comparison, subject structure, and verb phrase are not controlled. The conclusion also contains a faulty verb form in “eventually casued less students choosing.” Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and articles before submitting.
