Student answer (Band 6.5)
In this modern world, new genration has a different perspective towards education. They want to study practical or skill based courses rather than university based science and impractical curriculum.I believe that technology and new trends effect the interest of education among the youth.I think that it has a positive effect on society. In this essay, I will discuss the reasons and give relevant examples.
Firstly,Young generation is different from past students and
following experimental and open education methods. Moreover, they are not much interested to sit in the classrooms and listen the lectures to pass the exam. The young minds are more innovative and keen to explore by themselves. For example,In the rural areas of india ,a 15 years old girl did science experiment to create a motor to run her stitching machine without any educational degree. This shows the value of science in daily life and how people understand it.Lot of students studying in colleges are not able to connect them with their respective fields of education. They are pursuing their courses only for jobs.
Secondly, technology is leading people to explore their field of studies without any certificates and schools. In results,It has a positive imapct on our children. They are becoming more creative and active to follow their passion. For instance,BBC news published the article on 13 years old child who won the little scientist award for his experiments in the field of energy. He created a model of energy and got first prize in china.
In conclusion,University education is not updated with the time and lack of opportunities for experiments. The recent experimental trend among the youth is benefiticial for change of society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: causes and effects. However, the development is somewhat uneven. While the essay identifies reasons such as the preference for practical learning and the influence of technology, the discussion on the effects on society is quite brief and lacks depth. The argument that the trend is 'positive' is stated but not fully explored in terms of the broader societal impact. The examples provided, such as the girl in India and the child in China, are relevant but could be more effectively integrated to support the main argument. To reach a higher band, ensure that the effects on society are analyzed with more complexity and detail.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. The referencing is generally clear, but there are instances where the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition between the discussion of the Indian girl and the general statement about students pursuing jobs is slightly abrupt. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion, which helps the reader follow the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'curriculum', 'innovative', and 'experimental'. However, there are some spelling errors ('genration', 'imapct', 'benefiticial') and minor collocation issues, such as 'listen the lectures' instead of 'listen to lectures'. The range of vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended meaning, but it lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. Expanding the use of academic collocations and synonyms would improve the overall quality of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the rural areas of india', 'the 15 years old girl'), subject-verb agreement, and punctuation (missing spaces after commas and periods). Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'In results,It has a positive imapct'. Despite these errors, the reader is rarely confused, and the communication remains effective. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring consistent use of articles and correct sentence structure.
