Student answer (Band 5.5)
In many country student do not choice a science subject due to lack of interest .In universities many students also not pick a or choice a science subject thay intersted in a arts subject instead of science .
The main cause of that students not choice a science subject their lack of interst .Moreover in university when students get apply for their admission unfortunatly they don"t get admission in science subject due to their merit becauce their marit was too low .therefore they no get admission in universitys in science realted subject due to high merit .secondly they chose arts subject because arts subject easy compere to science subject therefore they not get admission in science releated faield in universitys .sometimes students think that arts subjects have a better scope than science subject
Its consequences on socity :
In this era of science and technology if students don not get admission in a science realated faield its big problems for society .In this modren era science is faield which have better scope. In future developments will have come due to science .If students don;t take part or get admission in science realted faields our society do not get benifit in future .so we say that negative affects has been occure on socity
For instance in many countries like US,GERMANYand aslo in Europe these country gave a opportunites for stuents to take parts in science subject therefore they developed many technologies which we use in daily life .if these countries don't do that ,then these countries not develop on international level .so thats all i wanted to say about this topic .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the causes (lack of interest, merit-based admission, perceived difficulty of arts) and the effects (lack of technological development). However, the development is limited and repetitive. The ideas are presented in a somewhat simplistic manner, and the explanation of the 'merit' issue is slightly confusing. While the response covers all parts of the task, the lack of depth and the reliance on basic, repetitive explanations prevent it from reaching a higher band. To improve, you should aim to expand on your points with more specific, logical reasoning rather than repeating the same ideas in different ways.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is divided into paragraphs, which helps with organization, but the internal structure is weak. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often mechanical (e.g., 'moreover', 'therefore', 'secondly'). There is a lack of logical progression between sentences, and some transitions feel forced or disconnected. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow of ideas is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother, more cohesive argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, often relying on the same words throughout the text (e.g., 'subject', 'admission', 'science', 'society'). There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'faield' instead of 'field', 'socity' instead of 'society', and 'marit' instead of 'merit'. These errors occasionally make it difficult for the reader to follow the intended meaning. To achieve a higher score, you need to expand your range of vocabulary and focus on accurate spelling and collocations, moving beyond simple, everyday language to more academic terminology.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('student do not choice'), incorrect verb forms ('thay intersted'), and punctuation errors (missing spaces after periods, incorrect use of semicolons). Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences are often marred by errors that impede clarity. There is a consistent lack of control over basic grammar, such as articles and pluralization. To improve, you must focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for common errors before attempting more complex structures.
