Students from all around the world gets option for completing their bachelors and masters in the specific fields that interests them. However, it is noticed that students opting for science is significantly less cause of various reasons. Lets discuss the reasons in detail and the effects it have on society.
Initially, most of the students love studying science and find it fascinating as it involves experimenting, various practical examples and mainly it connects students with how things in their surrounding works. Then comes a turning point, while growing many of them start to find science difficult and could not cope up with it. The fear of failing grows in them which stops them from pursuing science.
Besides this, many of the students find science interesting as compared to other fields and can deal with it by working hard and more practically but out of them some students can't study further, a factor contributing to it can be a financial burden as everyone does not come from strong financial background and may not be able to afford higher studies because science can be much expensive but they can counter this problems by getting loans and scholarships and also after completing the course, initial income maybe low and they have hard time coping up with it.
Less students taking science may lead to overcrowding in other fields and results in less optimisation of human as well as other resources in the economy
To conclude, students are not pursuing science cause of the difficulty level and may suffer financial issues. It has negative impact on the society in future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: causes and effects. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the point about financial burdens is introduced but becomes slightly muddled with the mention of loans and scholarships, which contradicts the initial premise of it being a barrier. The effects on society are mentioned only briefly in the final paragraph, lacking the depth required for a higher band. To improve, you should expand on the societal consequences, such as the impact on technological innovation or healthcare systems, rather than just stating it has a 'negative impact'.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite basic and sometimes mechanical. Phrases like 'Initially' and 'Besides this' are used to link ideas, but the transition between sentences within paragraphs is often abrupt. For example, the shift from discussing interest in science to the 'turning point' lacks a smooth logical connector. Additionally, the final paragraph is very brief and does not effectively synthesise the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range expected at higher levels. You rely on common words like 'love', 'difficult', and 'things'. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'less optimisation of human as well as other resources'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more academic vocabulary and precise collocations related to the topic, such as 'academic disciplines', 'financial constraints', or 'socio-economic implications'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally hinder the flow. Subject-verb agreement is a recurring issue, such as 'students... gets option' and 'effects it have'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods (e.g., 'works.Then'). While you attempt some complex structures, they are often marred by errors, such as 'cause of various reasons' instead of 'because of'. You need to focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement and pluralisation to improve your accuracy.
