Most of the students in various countries are not choosing science as a major at university have become a widely debated topic. This essay shall analyze the reasons and impact on society.

At first this generation has realized the significance of studies specifically in the advancement of interest in different areas other than science subjects because now they broke down the traditional choices of professions such as doctor, engineer etc. There are other fields which has scope and career other than that it provides the relaxation from academic mental fatigue.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses both parts of the prompt—causes and effects—but the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you identify competition and a shift in interest as causes, the explanation of the effects on society is vague and lacks clear logical links. For instance, the claim that this shift has 'modified the living standards and thought process of elderly people' is not clearly connected to the decline in science students. To improve, ensure that each point is fully explained with concrete examples rather than general statements. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments need more depth to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'At first' and 'Too conclude' are used, but the transition between sentences within paragraphs is sometimes abrupt. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the third paragraph where the connection between 'promotions in employment' and the decline in science students is difficult to follow. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words will help create a smoother flow of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on some repetitive or slightly unnatural collocations, such as 'have race over a proportion of seats' and 'promotion chances'. While the meaning is generally clear, there is a lack of sophisticated or topic-specific vocabulary related to education or societal trends. To improve, focus on learning collocations related to academic and professional contexts and try to use more precise terminology to express your ideas more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. You have frequent errors in subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'other fields which has scope', 'how crucial is the developments are') and awkward phrasing that occasionally impedes readability. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While you attempt complex sentences, the grammatical control is not yet stable. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement and article usage will significantly improve your score.
