Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 167 words. Consequently, the development of ideas is severely limited. While the essay attempts to address the causes (cost and career options) and effects (economic impact), these points are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting evidence or logical expansion. The conclusion is incomplete, and the overall response is too brief to fully address the prompt. To improve, you must expand on your arguments with specific examples and ensure you meet the minimum length requirement to allow for a full discussion of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay uses basic paragraphing, but the logical progression is hindered by the lack of content. Cohesive devices are used in a mechanical and repetitive way, such as the frequent use of 'To elaborate' and 'For example'. Referencing is often unclear, such as in the phrase 'which have effect also on society. which will be explained', where the sentence structure is fragmented. The flow between ideas is disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the argument. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each sentence connects logically to the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, which restricts the ability to convey complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'high-cost cut in university' and 'less plenty of option'. The student relies on basic vocabulary, and there is little evidence of an attempt to use more sophisticated or academic terminology. To improve, you should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to education and economics, and practice using synonyms to avoid repeating the same words throughout the text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('there many student'), incorrect word order, and sentence fragments ('which will be explained in upcoming paragraphs'). The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with errors in basic grammar. Complex sentence attempts are often faulty, such as 'individuals which have not alternative job they will b danger'. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of relative pronouns like 'who' versus 'which'.
