Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 149 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay identifies causes (difficulty of subjects, long duration) and effects (shortage of professionals, economic impact), these points are underdeveloped and lack sufficient explanation or illustrative examples. The response is too brief to fully address all parts of the prompt, resulting in a fragmented argument. To improve, you must expand each point with detailed explanations and concrete examples to meet the length requirement and demonstrate a deeper understanding of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay uses basic cohesive devices such as 'One of the primary reason', 'In addition', and 'On the other hand' to signal progression. However, the logical flow is hampered by the brevity of the text. Paragraphing is present, but the ideas within the paragraphs are not well-connected or extended. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between the causes and effects is abrupt. To achieve a higher score, you should focus on using a wider range of cohesive devices and ensuring that each paragraph develops a single, clear idea that links logically to the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'catch the opportunity which gave them easily jobs' and 'hight paying salary'. The term 'lech of science expertise' is a spelling error for 'lack'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to discuss the topic with any degree of precision or sophistication. To improve, you should focus on learning topic-specific collocations and synonyms to avoid repeating basic words and to express your ideas more accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'One of the primary reason is', 'many pupils are think that', and 'is involves such long educational journey'. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the existing sentences are often poorly constructed. Punctuation is also inconsistent. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement, verb tense consistency, and sentence structure. Practicing the use of complex sentences, such as those using relative clauses or conditional structures, will also help improve your range.
