Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt (causes and effects), but the development is limited and the ideas are under-supported. The word count is 223 words, which is below the 250-word minimum requirement, leading to a penalty. The arguments regarding causes, such as 'easy subjects' and 'lack of staff', are presented but lack depth or specific elaboration. Similarly, the effects on society are mentioned in general terms without clear logical progression. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and concrete examples, ensuring you meet the minimum length requirement to fully develop your arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is often disjointed. While some cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'To began with', 'Furthermore'), they are sometimes used incorrectly or mechanically. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the final paragraph where the connection between the university example and the broader societal impact is weak. The flow between sentences is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors, which makes the text harder to follow. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to express complex ideas. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'pupils are not agree to take addmission' and 'skilled persons will be minimise'. These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To reach a higher band, you need to move beyond simple vocabulary and attempt to use more precise, academic language. Focus on learning collocations (words that naturally go together) and synonyms to avoid repeating the same terms throughout the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that affect clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('their staff are not well instructors'), incorrect verb forms ('If it will be continue'), and misuse of articles and prepositions. The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with some attempts at complex ones that are often faulty. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically tense consistency and subject-verb agreement, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
