Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: causes and effects. The ideas are relevant, such as the perceived difficulty of science subjects and the resulting shortage of skilled professionals. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For instance, the point about 'limited awareness' is a good start but could be expanded with more specific examples of how educational systems fail to promote these careers. The conclusion is a bit generic and does not fully synthesize the main points discussed. To reach a higher band, ensure that each cause and effect is explored with more depth and analytical detail rather than just listing them.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. There is a logical progression from causes to effects. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or awkward. For example, phrases like 'I pen down highlighting that' are unnatural and do not serve as effective transitions. Additionally, the punctuation is inconsistent, particularly with the placement of commas and periods (e.g., 'Moreover ,in regards to'). Improving the variety and natural flow of linking words would significantly enhance the coherence of the essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at using topic-specific vocabulary such as 'biotechnology', 'innovation', and 'mitigate'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and awkward phrasing, such as 'bringing a state of depression among the masses' (which is an overstatement) and 'a control can be taken over this problem'. The range is sufficient to communicate, but lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent errors in punctuation and sentence construction. For example, there are misplaced periods before sentences start (e.g., 'Shortage of skilled professionals A decline...'), and some sentences lack proper subject-verb agreement or articles. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency of the writing. A greater focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would be beneficial.
