Student answer (Band 5.5)

Now-a-days students are not choosing to study science at university because everything is related to technology and computer and it has more scope in future rather than science it takes a lot of our time and energy and its result is not that worthy but at same time in other fields like in computer with same energy and time we can have a better future with better results . At this time artificial intelligence has taken over everything .It is working brilliantly in every field and rapidly taking the place of humans and at this time everything is shifted to automatic work. Technology has grown a lot, and phones are everywhere now they are a part of almost everything we do .Mobile phones were one of the greatest inventions of technology. but if we look at more recent and advance innovations .artificial intelligence is probably the biggest breakthrough, transforming almost every part of our lives .Because of all these reasons students are going in other fields than science there is a information that work done humans will be given to the robots and most risk is for the medical field people .There careers will be at risk they will become jobless. Todays students have more interest in technology than in science. Most of students are more interested in business ,media , or social sciences etc. They believe these fields will better match there career goals and offer flexible opportunities and in addition some non science fields competitive salaries .So many students think they can build a successful career without taking science.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt—causes and effects—but the development is uneven. While you identify reasons like the perceived 'scope' of technology and career flexibility, the discussion on effects is somewhat limited and repetitive. The argument that medical professionals will become jobless due to AI is a specific point, but it lacks broader societal analysis. The ideas are generally relevant, but the lack of clear paragraphing makes it difficult to distinguish between the causes and the effects, leading to a somewhat disjointed presentation of your arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks paragraphing, which is a significant issue for coherence. The text is presented as a single block, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of ideas. While there are some attempts at cohesive devices (e.g., 'in addition', 'because of all these reasons'), they are often used mechanically or incorrectly. The flow between sentences is sometimes abrupt, and the lack of clear topic sentences means the reader has to work harder to understand the logical structure of your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'everything', 'work', and 'things' repeatedly. There are some attempts at topic-specific vocabulary such as 'artificial intelligence' and 'innovations', but these are not consistently used. Additionally, there are minor errors in word choice, such as 'there careers' (should be 'their') and 'advance innovations' (should be 'advanced'), which slightly impact the professional tone of the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in punctuation, such as missing spaces after periods and commas, and run-on sentences. Grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement ('work done humans will be given') and incorrect word forms ('there' instead of 'their'), occur throughout the text. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader and indicate a lack of control over complex grammatical structures.
